Our Dentists

Dr. Akbar Khaiat

Endodontist

Dr. Akbar Khaiat graduated from the University of Tehran School of Dental Medicine. He entered a postgraduate program at the University of Boston, Mass, and received MS and specialist certificate degrees in Endodontics in 1977.

Akbar has 40 years of experience in non-surgical and surgical root canal treatment aimed at saving teeth that were considered too difficult.

He has published more than 45 articles and contributed and presented lectures at international conferences. He is a registered specialist in Endodontics at the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia (CDSBC) and is a fellow of the Royal College of Dentistry of Canada (RCDC).

Dr. Khaiat now serves as a clinical associate professor at UBC.
Dr. Dustin Trudeau

General Dentist

Dr. Trudeau was born and raised in Nanaimo before leaving for the University of Victoria to study for his Bachelor of Science in Biology.

After graduating, he spent some time doing stroke and diabetes research before moving to Vancouver and obtaining his Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of British Columbia.

He graduated with winning numerous awards including the British Columbia Dental Association Award.

He brings passion and enthusiasm to all his work, combined with a desire to always learn more.

When not in the office working to improve the oral health of the community, he can be found on the golf course or out with his wife exploring the beautiful outdoors that Vancouver Island has to offer.

Dr. Chia-Ling Hsieh

General Dentist

Dr. Hsieh earned her DMD degree from Taipei Medical University in 2012 and later came to Canada in 2018, where she successfully completed the licensure process to practice dentistry in Canada.

Dr. Hsieh’s treatment philosophy is simple yet profound; every patient deserves to be heard and treated as an individual. This belief is reflected in her thorough consultations, where she takes the time to understand her patients’ concerns, preferences, and health objectives.

Dr. Hsieh is renowned for her gentle touch and empathetic approach. She understands that dental anxiety is common and strives to create a calming environment for her patients.

Dr. Hsieh’s journey to practicing in Canada began with what was meant to be a brief visit. Captivated by the stunning landscapes and the warm, welcoming nature of British Columbia she decided to lay down roots and establish her dental practice in Canada.

When she’s not in the clinic, Dr. Hsieh is often found traversing rugged trails or planning her next global expedition. She speaks English and Mandarin.
